Mercedes benz E guard
Those who have to travel a lot need to feel safe, especially in a world of ever-increasing security threats. Here it is important that a special-protection vehicle should not be recognisable as such, but maintain a low-key profile instead: discretion is of the essence.
Integral protection from the outset – the total protection concept is built in right from the specifications book stage. Long before the vehicle is given its "face", our engineers are working on the complex task of perfectly harmonising the interaction between the effective protection required of a safety vehicle, its increased weight, its adapted chassis, its modified control systems, and the merits of an E-Class.
Every part of the vehicle comes "under fire" from internationally recognised institutions. The complete passenger compartment is tested in accordance with BRV 2009 test guidelines and is certified at protection level VR4. Surfaces, seams where different materials meet, functional joints, for instance in the door areas, are all fired at from random angles. In addition the vehicle has had to prove its certified rating under triangulated fire and through resistance to multi-hit shooting. And what’s more: we have successfully tested the optional floor armour at different points with the DM 51 hand-grenade.

Three engine variants ensure an agile driving performance, in the left-hand and right-hand drive variants: the E 350 V6 petrol engine, the top-of-the-line E 500 V8 and the particularly thrifty E 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY diesel variant which, with its innovative engine management system, ensures the highest possible environmental compatibility.
All the assistance systems of an E-Class are available and fully operational, the armour-plating notwithstanding.
The side windows on the driver's and front-passenger sides can be fully opened electrically, and powerful electric windows are also available for the rear compartment passengers.
An intercom system for communication with the outside, and a panic button which in case of danger makes the headlamps flash and an acoustic alarm sound, are optionally available.
And finally, but by no means less important, the tyres with run-flat characteristics which will allow you to escape from a dangerous situation even if they are completely deflated.
